Math Application Standards
K-8 Principals: When PLCs are discussing their Math pacing and preparation for CAASPP, remind them that the larger goal is to make sure every student is as prepared as they can be for NEXT YEAR. The best way to keep this larger target in mind is for teachers to stay focused on their
application standards. These are the higher DOK level standards in their Major Clusters. 80% of their year should be focused on this work. If students are successful with this smaller
subset of standards, they will be in profile 3-5 in IReady, likely be proficient in math this year, and thus ready for next year’s work!
