RCSD Administrator Survey: May 2020
The sudden shift to distance learning in the spring brought both successes and challenges. The Educational Services Team is seeking your feedback and suggestions to assist us with planning for success as we adapt to the challenges posed by COVID-19. Please take some time to provide feedback and share your perspective. Please complete the survey by May 28th.

Report Cards Emailed in Spanish
Elementary principals and secretaries, there are updated instructions on how you can email home report cards in Spanish if that is something you would like to do.

Student Mobile Device Collection
In preparation for end-of-year student mobile device collections, please reference the below video on how to view mobile devices issued to students in PowerSchool and message those families from Swift.

Staff now has the ability to view all mobile devices assigned to a student (i.e. Chromebooks, hotspots, and tablets) from the Technology Loaner student screen in PowerSchool Admin.

We've come up with the following message that can be used when messaging families to collect student mobile devices: Student Chromebook Collection

At this time, we are only asking for sites to message and collect mobile devices from students who will not be returning next school year, or are enrolled in 8th grade this school year.

Parents and/or legal guardians will still need to complete the mobile device agreement for any issued technology. If you have any questions, please email Laura.

Staff Chromebook Reminder
A reminder for staff who were refreshed with a Chromebook, in addition to their MacBook. They are expected to return their MacBook to site leadership no later than May 29th, 2020. The Information Systems Technician team will need the summer to evaluate, wipe the hard drives and reimage the devices so they  can be repurposed throughout the District.

Below is a list of staff at your site that were refreshed with a Chromebook this school year:

Please ensure both the device and the charger is returned for each staff member, and is stored in a secure location at your site. Please email the Information Systems Technician and Laura where those devices can be found, and we will pick them up. If staff is requesting to keep their device, please ask them to submit a support request through SchoolDude before May 29th, 2020, and we will evaluate the request based on need.

The below link is a video showing how to move files from your desktop to your Drive. This includes files that are on the desktop, in the download folder and pictures, and has been shared via the Educator Blog and with LITE’s throughout the school year to support the transition. How to Transfer Files from a Macbook to Drive.

If you have any questions, please email Laura.

Assigning iReady Lessons

With iReady available to our students through July, here is a short tutorial on how teachers can assign lessons:

Grades in PowerTeacher Pro

In case you get this question from teachers, when they go to PowerTeacher Pro, there will be nothing in the grade box, however, when you go to print them the NA will automatically be there. Or if you did have grades in those boxes, they will be overridden with NA on the actual report card.  While they do not need to put NA, it is their responsibility to put comments.  You can always run report to make sure that NA is on the report card.
