Student Placement after November 4th

Previously the district communicated that schedules for students would come out next week, 10/19 & 10/23. Following decisions made at tonight’s Board meeting, in his message to families tomorrow, Derk will let families know that schedules will not come out until the week of October 26. During that week, the Technology department will be emailing families their schedules. Once we have more details on the exact date, we will let everyone know with a timeline of expectations for all schools and departments.

Report Card
As we discussed at Leadership on Tuesday, the District will be running all reports and sending home report cards for this 1st Trimester.  Sites will send it for 2nd and 3rd Trimester.  We are still planning on training admin and clerical how to run report cards in case there are any corrections that need to be made after 10/30 for an individual student.  If you have any questions about the timeline or anything regarding report cards please email Brandon.

Please see this message that will be in the Educator Blog today:

A reminder you can check the RCSD Educator blog post from 10/1 for more details. A few important highlights:

Teachers will need to have the report cards completed by the end of the day on October 27th.

Please see the information below regarding how printing report cards will work.  The District will be creating the reports and emailing them home for the 1st Trimester on October 30th.

-The District will send an email on 10/22 letting parents know that the report card will be sent on 10/30.  Please click here to view the message that will be sent on 10/22 and then scroll down on this document to see the message sent on 10/30. These guides will be included in the messaging:

RCSD Report Card Information

Información de la Tarjeta de Calificaciones de RCSD-Otus

-Grades completed by 10/27 at 11:59 pm

-Every school site will get a shared folder where they can view PDF of the reports.  Those reports will be uploaded into the shared folder by 10am on 10/28.  The files will be organized by site, and then by grade level.

-Any updates done by the teacher by noon on 10/29.  We know this is quick turnaround but there is no way to space it out more with grades being completed on 10/27 at 11:59 and then us needing to run any updates the afternoon of 10/29.

-District will run the reports the afternoon of 10/29

-Email to parents on 10/30

If there are grade levels at elementary schools that would like a report card printed for parents that is a site decision. If report cards are printed, your principal will give you more details regarding who is printing them for your site and how they will be distributed to students.

Below are samples of what will be sent to parents. On the report card PDF summative scores will always show first, then participation grades for elementary and learning behaviors for middle schools.

A reminder that if you need any help with report cards we will be presenting during the optional Monday PD on 10/19 and 10/26 or you can watch the video from last week’s PD.

If you have any questions about the timeline above or anything regarding report cards please ask your principal.

Reopening Information
Here is the updated Reopening Document for this week. Remember all new questions and answers are in red.

SPSA
When your SPSA is complete, please notify your coach. They will review and offer feedback. Here is the SPSA checklist for the 20/21 school year. All SPSAs should be complete by December 18th.

K/1 Foundational Skills Assessments & Rubrics

The rubrics for Kindergarten and 1st grade foundational skills are set up in OTUS. Teachers are expected to use these rubrics to report out on these skills. Kindergarten has 3 rubrics to use (phonological awareness, phonics and fluency). 1st grade has 2 (phonics and fluency). Utilizing these rubrics allows us to pull this data at the district level and no longer requires teachers to submit this data via google form. This is a CELEBRATION! Julie Murdaugh will then pull the specific site data and submit back to you, similar to what Jennie did for the beginning of the year.
  • This video was sent to teachers to help them navigate these rubrics in OTUS.

  • Updated assessment calendar reflecting the change in dates for the administration window.

Resource document for virtual administration.
