Change in substitute assignments through Frontline
Due to the increase in unfilled daily substitute positions across the District, we will make a small change in the way our substitute pool is notified of a teacher absence.

Starting on Monday, as soon as a teacher enters an absence in Frontline the need will immediately go out to all our subs. If a teacher has a preferred sub list, those folks will have a short window to accept the job before it goes to the entire pool. Our hope is that with an immediate notification, our amazing subs will be able to better plan their schedules, be more available to us and be more comfortable in knowing their assignments in advance.

There is nothing for you to do, the change will be made from Personnel Services in an effort to get more jobs filled more quickly throughout the District. However, you can help by entering your absences in Frontline as soon as you know you will be absent. The closer to the actual absence, the less likely you will get a sub assigned. While we are still very short on substitutes, we are hoping this updated process will help get needs filled.

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and kindness as we continue to work on strategies to support our staff and students.

GATE Testing
The window for families to sign their students up for GATE testing has closed. As a reminder, the GATE test will be administered by contracted examiners and students will test at their home school sites in January. Each site will host testing one day after school and you will need to have two rooms available for the examiners on your testing date. If you have not done so already, please complete the GATE Testing Site Schedule Input Form by November 8 to indicate which days your site is available to host testing. Many thanks!

SPSA
The data from ELPAC still isn’t in DTS. Since the state extended the testing window last school year through July, this has delayed the information being released and then uploaded. You can still complete everything else on your SPSA and share it with your Site Council. Your conclusion statements can be done for the ELPAC once it is finally released.

CA Safe Schools Assessment
Just a reminder that the CA Safe Schools Assessment form needs to be filled out at the end of every month. Back in the day, it was a hard copy, and in the past couple of years it has been transferred to a Google Form. Hard copies are no longer needed. The form is linked above in the title. Feel free to bookmark it and make sure it’s completed monthly by admin or clerical.
