January 3rd Elementary Asynchronous Science PD
On the January 3rd District Professional Development Day, elementary teachers will be working through a 2-hour asynchronous science PD with their PLC. This PD will be emailed to all elementary teachers first thing in the morning on 1/3/22. The slide deck will provide all the directions and feedback form. Thank you!

Due Date Reminders
Thank you for all of your work on your SPSAs...good thing is the next two items aren’t as in depth.

SARC - Updated in DTS by January 6th. Email me when yours is complete. I will be adding the district’s information next week. This doesn’t impact your work.

Safety Plan - Updated in DTS by January 21st. Make sure to review and get approval from the Site Safety Team or Site Council.

Administrator and Classified Technology Refresh
Technology Services is pleased to share the Administrator and Classified Staff Refresh has been reinstated for the 2021-2022 school year and future years. Unfortunately, funding constraints have delayed this rollout, but the team is working hard to move this forward quickly. Staff computers will be refreshed based on the age of the device. If you’re experiencing technical difficulties with the device currently assigned to you, please submit a support ticket via SchoolDude and we would be happy to investigate. If you’re curious where you fall on the refresh list, please contact Laura Assem.

PowerSchool Update

Over the Winter Break, the technology team will be updating PowerSchool. The update will not change the functionality, but it will be sporting a new look. Changes include, but are not limited to:



Beginning at 5:00 PM on Monday, December 20, 2021, Technology Services will be updating the PowerSchool SIS with the upcoming release. The following applications will be available for most of the maintenance window. However, users will experience intermittent connectivity as the software versions are applied.


  • PowerSchool Admin

  • PowerSchool Teacher Portal

  • PowerSchool Public Portal (Parents, Students, Guardians)

  • Swift

Please refer parents to other resources. Fire Marshall Inspection Follow-up was completed with the fire inspector to clarify what each school site needs to have posted. Please review the following and make sure your site is ready to go. BUSINESS SERVICES Assemblies Involving Animals If you are hosting an assembly at your site that involves animals you may need to have parents sign the SIG Activities Waiver. All assemblies that involve animals on campus should be communicated to parents before the event. This can be done through an email, newsletter, blog, etc. If your students WILL be touching the animals, parents must fill out the SIG Activities Waiver. If your students will NOT be touching animals and will only be looking at the animals from a distance, you do not need to have parents fill out the waiver. Kindergarten Communication Timeline Please refer to this Kindergarten Communication Timeline which has the dates that Swift messages will be sent from the District and from the Site regarding full day Kindergarten and early dismissal for the first 7 days of school.
