COVID News
  • Once an unvaccinated employee tests positive, please edit the vaccination verification page in PowerSchool to indicate they will not need to test again for 90 days since the positive test.
  • Once a positive employee has tested negative on an antigen test and is released from isolation, please do not test again on PCR for 90 days. PCR tests may continue to show positive results well after the person's infectious period.
  • A reminder that N95 masks are now available for sites to order through the Stores process. At this time we only have adult-size masks. Please notify your staff they are available for their use.
Personnel News
  • Please be sure to have F4 Summative Evaluations finalized by February 4 for all Temporary and Probationary employees. All evaluations and decisions to rehire must be made prior to the March 3 Board meeting.
  • Please reach out to Meghan to discuss any Probationary teachers who you are not interested in having back next year.
Safety Information- Upcoming News
  • During the February 8th leadership meeting we will have training with a representative from Raptor to overview how to use Raptor during drills at school sites. He will show how to log in as a staff member to account for students. He will also show how the site admin can see an overview of all the classes and where kids are located. After the training, you will hear the next steps for school sites as well as lessons learned from pilot schools.

Leadership - February 22nd
  • On February 22 we are asking that elementary leaders join us at 8:50 in order for Naomi Blaine to present the suicide prevention training. This is the yearly training that all elementary teachers need to have. During leadership, she will highlight changes to the presentation from last year and key takeaways. The slides will then be recorded in a presentation for you to share at a future staff meeting before the end of the school year.
Retirement Vendors/Luncheons
  • The only two approved vendors to be visiting sites and talking with staff are Teachers Pension and American Fidelity. They are allowed to meet in the lunchroom but not hold large group meetings. Site principals can guide the meeting location based on the space they feel appropriate for staff to meet.

Middle School- Adding RCSD Teachers in Classwize Admin
  • We know teachers are subbing for other teachers on their prep and the question came up on how you can add the teacher to Classwize so they can monitor what the students are doing in that class. Below is a short video showing how to log into Classwize admin (https://schoolmanager.us-1.familyzone.io/login) and how to add a teacher. This is not for substitute teachers, but for RCSD staff. It is not required in any way that you add them, but we wanted to show you how to do this if it is helpful. If you do not have the access you see in the video please submit a SchoolDude ticket.

Chromebook Check Out - TK through 5th
  • If a student is out for health or safety reasons, please work with the teacher to determine if they want to send home a paper packet or Chromebook for work. If a teacher is assigning work on Otus to complete, then a Chromebook needs to be offered in order for students to access the activities. Chromebooks are not being checked out for vacation.
