BUSINESS SERVICES

Assemblies Involving Animals
If you are hosting an assembly at your site that involves animals you may need to have parents sign the SIG Activities Waiver. All assemblies that involve animals on campus should be communicated to parents before the event. This can be done through an email, newsletter, blog, etc.

  • If your students WILL be touching the animals, parents must fill out the SIG Activities Waiver.

  • If your students will NOT be touching animals and will only be looking at the animals from a distance, you do not need to have parents fill out the waiver.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES

Emergency Alert Buttons

If they are accidentally pushed, please follow these procedures:

- You will know it has been pushed because you will receive a text alert (identified names and numbers given to Sonitrol at the beginning of each year)

- If it was an accident, please call Sontitol.  Please text your coach and Rachael to let them know as well.

- You do not need to call 911.

- Provide them with account number and passcode.

- The passcode is the individual alarm code.

STOPit  - Communication to Families

Just a reminder to send the parent communication to families.  Both letters are on the same document so make sure you send the right one.

Elementary - Please send within the first couple weeks of school, after you have trained your staff.

Middle - Please send at least a week before you train your students.  Make sure to add in the date you are training students in the letter.

English Language Development (ELD) Reminder

Please remember that CA requires that all EL students receive daily Designated English Language Development (ELD) instruction that is focused on language acquisition and the CA ELD standards. Best practice is to provide at least 30 minutes of Designated ELD each day. The 30 minutes may be broken up into shorter chunks of time to best support students in learning the language that is needed to access academic content. It is important that teachers are able to “point to” the dedicated Designated ELD time in their daily schedule.

K-5 Professional Development Cycles

Two Cycles of K-5 Professional Development will be held this year. Here is the PD Cycle Schedule that has been shared with teachers. All substitute assignments for the PD will be arranged by Sub Services. Principals, Assistant Principals, and TOSAs should plan on attending one PD day in Cycle 1 and one PD day in Cycle 2. Principals and APs will need to work with TOSAs to determine who will attend which date and each role will need to complete this FORM by August 17th.
