Temperature Guidelines - Reminder from Last Year
With high temperatures, it is important that we encourage students that are outside to drink water and get breaks in the shade. When the temperature is 100 degrees at the time of the activity, bring the students inside. Temperatures in the high 90s are a site decision, but any time it is 100 degrees or above, students must be brought inside. For example, if the forecast is a high of 102, but at lunchtime, it is 92, students can go outside and play.

K-5 Professional Development Cycles
Two Cycles of K-5 Professional Development will be held this year. Here is the PD Cycle Schedule that has been shared with teachers. All substitute assignments for the PD will be arranged by Sub Services. Principals, Assistant Principals, and TOSAs should plan on attending one PD day in Cycle 1 and one PD day in Cycle 2. Principals and APs will need to work with TOSAs to determine who will attend which date and each role will need to complete this FORM by August 17th (please disregard if you have already done this).

Additional Lexia Licenses
Last year we were able to provide Lexia licenses for additional students outside of K/1. This year we only have licenses available for K/1 students. If your site would like to purchase additional Lexia licenses it would be $44.00 per student.  Please reach out to Robin Amrine at Robin.Amrine@lexialearning.com for a quote or more information.

STOPit Anonymous Reporting
Next Wednesday, August 23rd, STOPit Solutions is performing a test on the alerts to ensure they are received by those signed up. It will come through as a test with directions telling you what to do in order for our customer service rep to know that the delivery was successful. Please make sure to complete the steps when you view it and let your counselors and TOSAs know who are signed up to do the same.

School Psychologist: Roles & Responsibilities
Principals, please be sure to reach out to your school psychologist to schedule a time to review the “Questions to Discuss” that are included in the School Psychologist Roles & Responsibilities guidelines. As a reminder, this document is not intended to be a checklist of things school psychologists will do at each school site. Their priorities are the responsibilities that fall under special education. They can support the site with the roles that fall under the other tiers based on their available time at your site and the school needs. If you have any questions before you meet with your school psychologist, please reach out to your program specialist or Susan.
