Spelling Bee
Can you BEE-lieve it’s time for the Placer County Spelling Bee? The Spelling Bee is for students in grades 4-8. If your site is interested in participating in the Spelling Bee, please complete the Google Form below by October 27, 2023. For more information and to view the Spelling Bee Timeline, please see the attached document.

October DELAC Meeting
All DELAC representatives, who were entered on the DELAC Site Representative Form, have been welcomed to the 23/24 DELAC team and invited to our first DELAC meeting. That being said, it is not too late to add a representative to the team! If you find a representative at any point throughout the year, please add their information to the link above and I will reach out. 2024 GATE Testing
If you have not done so already, please add the following GATE communications to your site newsletter/blog by October 13, 2023. All GATE testing information and the parent permission Google forms are included in the communication. Thank you!

SPSA Updates
Now that the CAASPP data has been shared with you on your site slide decks, you can use this information for the Standards, Assessment and Accountability section of the Comprehensive Needs Assessment.  Please make sure to include your subgroups. 
Another thing to note, since the Dashboard will not be populated until December, you will not have the data in the Dashboard sections of your SPSA. It will reflect old data. Please make sure to be transparent with this when you share to your SSC and staff. Due to this, you will not need to write new conclusion statements. Any necessary data should be included in your goals.

Running Report Cards
Below are the resources around how to run report cards for Admin or Clerical. Teachers run their report cards differently and we will share their how to guides next week. As a reminder it is a site decision on if you print, email or both and up to the site to communicate when they would email out if they do. There were questions at the clerical meeting regarding emailing both Spanish and English report cards. Admin will discuss further at Leadership next week.

Interpreters for Conference Week
Everyone received their block of time for Spanish interpreters for conference week yesterday. Please work with your staff to fill the slots and send the schedule with the requested information to Rachel McCoy. We understand the times are tight as we have needs across the district with a limited amount of interpreters and availability. If you are in need of other interpreters for conference week besides Spanish, please make sure the Request for Interpreter form is filled out with the date and details and sent to Rachel McCoy.

This is something helpful to keep in hand for families in need not only during the holidays, but all year long. LiveScan Update The Roseville PD is no longer doing live scans for fingerprinting. BUSINESS SERVICES Assemblies Involving Animals If you are hosting an assembly at your site that involves animals you may need to have parents sign the SIG Activities Waiver. All assemblies that involve animals on campus should be communicated to parents before the event. This can be done through an email, newsletter, blog, etc. If your students WILL be touching the animals, parents must fill out the SIG Activities Waiver. If your students will NOT be touching animals and will only be looking at the animals from a distance, you do not need to have parents fill out the waiver. Kindergarten Communication Timeline Please refer to this Kindergarten Communication Timeline which has the dates that Swift messages will be sent from the District and from the Site regarding full day Kindergarten and early dismissal for the first 7 days of school.
