District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)

If you have not done so already, please complete the 2023-2024 DELAC Site Representative Form  by 10/6 to share the name of your site DELAC representative for this school year. DELAC meetings are held from 5:00-6:00, via Zoom, and 4 -5 times per year. Jennie will reach out to all representatives to invite them to the first DELAC meeting that will be held on 10/17. Thank you.

EL & RFEP Progress Monitoring 

It is time to complete our fall EL and RFEP Progress Monitoring forms in Ellevation. This means that EL Site Leaders will be asking principals for 10-15 minutes of an October staff meeting so they can present this topic to teachers. EL Site Leaders will discuss the forms and support teachers with completing these forms by 11/3.

SPSA

Thank you for getting your Comprehensive Needs Assessment done in your SPSA.  By the end of this month, please make sure to review your goals with your coach so they understand what you are focusing on.  Once your SPSA is complete, please make sure to email Rachael at least two days prior to your SSC meeting so she can provide any feedback before you review it with them and have them vote.  Here is the detailed timeline for your reference.

BUSINESS SERVICES Assemblies Involving Animals If you are hosting an assembly at your site that involves animals you may need to have parents sign the SIG Activities Waiver. All assemblies that involve animals on campus should be communicated to parents before the event. This can be done through an email, newsletter, blog, etc. If your students WILL be touching the animals, parents must fill out the SIG Activities Waiver. If your students will NOT be touching animals and will only be looking at the animals from a distance, you do not need to have parents fill out the waiver. Kindergarten Communication Timeline Please refer to this Kindergarten Communication Timeline which has the dates that Swift messages will be sent from the District and from the Site regarding full day Kindergarten and early dismissal for the first 7 days of school.
