Interpreters for Conference Week (Elementary)

Earlier this week all sites received their blocks of time for Spanish and Russian interpreters for conference week. Please work with your teachers to get those scheduled. In addition, you received the form for teachers to fill out if they need other languages or ASL for conference week. The process is the same as the school year except there are special forms just for conference week (teachers fill out a hard copy and clerical fill out the Google form). In order to provide time to schedule the interpreters, the deadline for the Google forms to be submitted is November 4th. Please check with teachers to ensure contact has been made with families and they know they will need an interpreter. If needs arise after the 4th, the Language Line will need to be used. Refer to the emails sent on Monday, October 7th for more details.

Goals, Data, and Funding Template
The template should be reviewed by your coach then shared with me in order for me to reference LCFF expenditures. Remember, this year for SPSA we will be writing broad goal statements. Please refer to slides 6-11 for information about the template and the goals. Reach out if you have any questions.

District Professional Development October 31st

We are looking forward to our District Professional Development Day coming up on October 31st from 8:00-3:00 for all certificated staff and instructional assistants. This will be an excellent opportunity for staff across the district to collaborate and learn together.
The PD topic will be on minimizing challenging behaviors in the classroom presented by Navigating Behavior Change. The training will focus on universal support in the classroom, evidence-based strategies to teach skill deficits that often lead to challenging behaviors, and effective ways to respond to behaviors and increase motivation in students. You will walk away with strategies to begin implementing in your classroom right away.
Instructional assistants will attend training sessions tailored to their various roles, ensuring everyone can gain valuable insights and practical tools to apply in their daily work.
More information about the October 31 PD schedule and locations will be in next week’s Digest.
