District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)
If you have not done so already, please complete the 2025-2026 DELAC Site Representative Form by 10/10 to share the name of your site DELAC representative for this school year. DELAC meetings will be hosted on Zoom from 5:00-6:00 pm on the following dates: 10/21, 12/9, 2/10, 3/24, 5/12. Elks Lodge Drug Awareness
The Poster, Essay, and NEW this year Video contest is back for 2025-2026! Email with information was sent on Monday, September 29th with the rules and entry forms.
  • Elementary Sites Only:
    • You should have received a pack of poster paper. Please print some copies of the Poster Contest Rules and Contest Entry Form to include with the poster paper as you receive requests. Please note: This contest is open to 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders only.
  • Middle School Sites Only:
    • Please print some copies of the Essay & Video Contest Rules and Contest Entry Form to have available as you receive requests. Please note: The Essay contest is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and the Video contest is only for 7th and 8th graders.
Please bundle and send all submissions to the District Office no later than Friday, November 7th, to Kayla Satchwell in Ed. Services.

2025-2026 Spelling Bee
It’s time to sign up for the 2025-2026 PCOE Spelling Bee! The Spelling Bee is for students in grades 4-8. If you are interested in participating in the Spelling Bee this year, please complete the Google Form below by Friday, October 24th. This year, the top eight spellers at each grade level district-wide will be invited to the District Office for the County Written Spelling Test portion. For more information, please see the timeline below.

Safety Plan
As you are working on the safety plan, please make sure to follow the checklist and refer to the leadership slides on September 17th. Reach out if you have any questions or want to talk through anything. Also, please make sure to fill in the date of your safety meeting where you will review and approve your plan. We need to share this date with the local unions and the Mayor’s office.
The safety plan is due December 17, 2025. Remember that I will need to review it a couple days prior to you bringing it to your SSC or Safety Team. Please let me know when it is ready for my review.

CA Great Shakeout
The CA Great Shakeout is every October and this year it is next week on October 16th. This is a day that many of you schedule one of your shelter drills. This day is not a requirement, but if you are interested, more information can be found on this site.

Care Solace
Last year all school sites sent a letter to their families reminding them about Care Solace. The letter has been updated for you to share again this year. As we continue our partnership with Care Solace, this will be an annual letter that is shared. Please make sure to enter your site’s information and send it out by Wednesday, October 15th.

CPI Certification Training
We are offering the initial CPI certification training for staff on the January 5th professional development day. Participants must complete online modules prior to the in-person training on January 5th. The online modules will take approximately 2-3 hours. Staff may complete these modules during PLC early release days in November and December. Elementary school staff may also use the afternoons during conference week to complete the modules.
Principal may complete this form to register staff for the training by Friday, October 24th. The class is limited to 40 participants. The week of October 27th-31st, you will be notified if your staff will be able to attend the training. Each staff member will receive a calendar invite for the in-person training on January 5th as well as an email with the directions for how to access the online modules.
Please only register staff after reviewing the requirement to complete the online modules prior to the in-person training on January 5th. One you are notified that your staff are enrolled in the training, please work with them to ensure the modules are completed during their regular works hours prior the winter break.
