Runnin’ for Rhett is a nonprofit youth running program for elementary and middle school students. They introduce students to running and physical activity in a fun, encouraging environment while helping them build confidence, perseverance, and healthy habits. At the end of each six-week season, they organize a race at William Land Park, where typically more than 2,500 students participate on Race Day. The program includes:
  • Full running curriculum
  • Coach support & swag
  • Coach stipends ($75-$300, based on student participation)
  • Race shirts, medals, & post-race celebration

Bring Student WishMakers to Your School (Make-A-Wish)
Right now, 23 kids in Placer County are waiting for their Make-A-Wish wishes to come true, and local students can help make them happen.
Through the Student WishMakers program, students can take the lead on fundraisers that support children facing critical illnesses. Whether you want to run a quick one-day activity or a full spirit week, the Make-A-Wish team provides all the materials and support to make it easy for your school. i-Ready Inform- Admin Access and Assigning a new assessment
There have been changes to i-Ready administrator access. Previous iSM accounts and other administrator accounts, including those for State and District Assessment Leaders, are not currently active. We are exploring possible solutions and will share more information as soon as it becomes available.
Principals, assistant principals, and RSP teachers should currently have administrator access.
Principals and assistant principals can reset or assign a new Inform assessment at their site. If a teacher requests that an assessment be reset or reassigned, please speak with the teacher briefly to understand the reason for the retake. Then, follow these steps.

SSP Forms in SIRAS
All SSP forms for the 26-27 school year have been updated in SIRAS. Administrators will receive the training about the changes during leadership on 8/19. All SSP facilitators will be trained about the updates at their SSP facilitator meeting on 9/1. All sites will deliver the site training to their staff during a September staff meeting. If you go into SIRAS now to open SSP meetings, you will see the updated forms, but please wait to send them to staff until training has been completed.

Evaluations Update
We are still in the process of adding new employees into Evaluat’d. There have been issues with the nightly uploads, so it may take longer than anticipated to see new classified employees in Evaluat’d.

Volunteers Reminder
Volunteer Category 2’s have six weeks to complete their mandated reporter training. A volunteer must have their Live Scan results and a current TB test in order to start, but can begin volunteering before completing the mandatory training. We are working on ways to ensure that all volunteers complete their training in a timely manner.
