Communications Accessibility Tip: Always Use Headings Headings may look decorative, but they are actually the "roadmap" screen readers use to navigate a page. In text editors, you’ll see these labeled as Heading 1 (H1), Heading 2 (H2), and so on. A screen reader uses these levels to create an outline that a user can navigate seamlessly. Here are some tips to make sure that you are using headings correctly: Headings are used in descending order (H1, H2, H3, etc.) Headings are not used as decoration or for visual emphasis Heading levels are not skipped (e.g., H2 to H4) Use only one H1 per web page or document Contact: Sydney Roll Opportunities for Local Author Visit Sacramento-area author Nicole Warn is partnering with local schools to inspire young readers in grades 3-8 through her middle grade fantasy series, Sophie Glendale.
