K/1 Lexia Dat
An email went out to all K/1 teachers on Monday with the information below. The chart below shows the growth our K and 1 students have made this year in Lexia. This data is from the beginning of the year (Start Level) until April 2nd, 2024 (End Level). Overall, 55% of K/1 students advanced at least one grade level of material!



This is great growth and a true indication of the implementation of Lexia in the K/1 classrooms and the work the teachers are doing. If you would like specific site data, please let me know!

i-Ready Window 3 Extension
i-Ready window 3 has been extended. The extended window 3 will run from April 15th -May 24th. This extension was due to elementary feedback and the desire for additional time after CAASPP testing to complete window 3.

K-8 Math Summer Learning Opportunity: Building Thinking Classrooms through SCOE

K-8 Science: Placer County 4-H Embryology Program
Placer County 4-H is offering an exciting opportunity for Placer County schools! Their Embryology program is now open and is currently accepting a limited number of applications online. The $125 fee to participate would be a site expense. If you have site funds to support this, please forward this information to teachers and you can use this information in your email:
Placer County 4-H is offering an exciting opportunity for Placer County schools! Their Embryology program is now open and is currently accepting a limited number of applications online.
Here are some details:
  • Curriculum aligned with NGSS
  • Students learn about embryo development, teamwork, responsibility
  • Grades 2-8; grades K-1 can participate but may need to modify curriculum to their students’ needs
  • Program runs 3 weeks
  • Provides one dozen fertilized eggs, incubators, curriculum, and a train-the-trainer event
  • Cost: $125

Automatic Door Locking Mechanism
Please determine the best wall mounted location for the mechanism. Make sure it is easily accessible within a couple seconds for the front office clerical and out of the way of kids passing by. Before scheduled installation, attach this document to the placement location. Installers will be on site for approximately 4 days - Commercial Controls Schedule.

Administrator Action Items
  • Discuss with your front office staff where the best location for the automatic door locking mechanism should be installed
  • Please complete the leadership meeting feedback form and the principal feedback form for April 1st (elementary only) by Friday, April 12th if you did not complete it in leadership
  • Confirm with your 4th and 5th grade teachers that the Growing and Changing program has been delivered to all 5th graders, and all 4th grade girls
  • Check in with clerical to ensure all IZs are entered for any new incoming students for the 24/25 school year and send appropriate letters.
  • Ensure your site is trained and prepared for state testing
  • Elementary: complete this form by April 19th regarding incoming Kindergarten assessments
  • Elementary: please complete this form by 4/19 with your i-Ready subject of instruction for grades 2-5
  • Email Jessica Hull if your campus has any staff or student memorials/if you received FOIA Buddy requests
