January 6, 2020 PD Day We are looking forward to our upcoming PD day on January 6th! Click  here  to see the location of where you will go on that day. This document includes the locations for all RCSD Educators for the day.  Please remind your instructional aides that they need to complete professional development hours for the year that equal 3x their daily hours.  There will be an opportunity for them to complete up to 6 hours on January 6th.   The Giving Tree at Woodbridge RCSD K-5 Agenda RCSD K-5 general education, RSP, SDC, PE, and Music teachers, for the January 6th PD day we will be at Destiny Church, 6900 Destiny Dr, Rocklin, CA 95677. We will be starting right at 8:30 am.  You and your staff do not need to bring any supplies or a computer for the morning. Please let your staff know what they need to bring for the afternoon. Congrats to the top 4 RCSD U.S. Constitution contest winners.  There were over 200 submissions but these students' submissions best answered the question, how does the U.S. Constitution shape everyday life. MTSS Spotlight Second Step, our social-emotional learning curriculum is a crucial piece of our Tier 1 instruction in RCSD.  It is an evidence-based curriculum that helps transform schools into supportive, successful learning environments uniquely equipped to help children thrive.  It has several core planning pieces and all lessons are set up similarly with 5 key components. Check out this video to see a sample lesson* (this is K-5 specific, middle school will be coming at a later time).

Essential Standards PLC Feedback Form Reminder     As a reminder, please remember to have your PLCs fill out the Essential Standards Feedback form during a future Staff Meeting. Only one form submission per PLC. Thank you! Feedback Form Vickie teaching the Crestmont staff about language objectives. Safety Plan Clarification The plans are due to Meghan, approved and signed by your School Site or  Safety Team no later than January 23, 2020, so they can be added to the Board agenda in time. October 31 PD Day We are excited to provide you with a powerful day of learning on October 31st! The day will focus on successful practices that support all of our kids by Name.Face.Story. Our day will start out with an amazing keynote speaker, Martha Merchant. She will present her keynote at Destiny Church, from 8:30 - 10:45. You will have from 10:45-12:15 for lunch and travel time, as our choice sessions will be hosted at Eich Middle School. We will be offering two sessions of choice for both classified and certificated staff. Leadership Agenda 10/8/19 Leadership Agenda 10/8/19 PLC Leadership Agenda Art Docent lessons at Junction Referrals for Behavior Analysts The protocol for referring a student to our behavior analysts is through the SSP Process for general education students and through the IEP team for students receiving special education.  After those teams have tried to problem-solve at the site level and find they need more ideas/support, the principal should reach out to their coach, and then the Program Specialist (for students with IEPs) or Meghan (for general education students).  Once Lori or Nicole receives a referral, they will contact school psych to ask about the following:  (1) Psych Observation (should happen before referral is made) (2) Target behaviors  (3) Initial data collection for the target behaviors (4) Antecedent strategies that have been tried (5) Reinforcement strategies that have been tried This protocol will be shared with the school psych
