Vaccination Reminders
Please ensure all vaccinations are current in Powerschool prior to leaving for summer break. Any student that is not current with vaccinations should be notified that the child will not be able to start school on August 11, 2022 until updated shot records are received and the child is compliant.

Secure Access with 2-Step Verification
One of RCSD’s top priorities is to protect the data of our staff members, students, parents/guardians, and our vendors and community partners. To further secure our organization and our collective data, Technology Services has built a strategy to implement 2-Step Verification, also known as two-factor authentication (2FA) or multi-factor authentication (MFA).

In compliance with the District’s cyber and ransomware insurance coverage, all RCSD employees will be required to enable 2-Step verification on or before May 27, 2022.

Please click the following link: https://www.rcsdk8.org/secureaccess for additional information, as well as instructional videos to enable 2-Step Verification.

Tri 3 Report Card Reminders
Principals, a reminder to please get your staff the timeline for their preview and when you will run their report cards.
    • Generating Report Card Guide
    • SwiftReach | Using PDF Builder to email Report Cards | Updated 2021
    • For both MS and Elementary:
Attendance records will be through May 20th, and will start showing by noon on May 23rd. Here is the new comment that needs to be added in the footer:

Attendance records for dropped classes are not included on this report card. Attendance records are through May 20, 2022.

    • Middle School Clerical Only: Run report cards by morning of 5/26. Put in your site folder, and email Joe Clark and Brandon Blom. We will combine the files and email them out.

    • Elementary Clerical Only: For Trimester 3 you will select the year, not the grading period. This will allow comments from all 3 trimesters to print on the report card.

Chromebook Check Out for Summer Learning
Site Chromebooks are available for summer checkout to students that have completed their Returning Student Registration and meet one or more of the following criteria:
    • Part of a specialized program
    • Regularly received intervention and needs additional support
    • Has a Rosetta Stone account or other ELD Support
    • Homeless/Foster Youth

If a student meets the requirements above, the parent must checkout the Chromebook through the Library Media Specialist, and the Chromebook must be assigned to the student in Destiny.

Only District-owned Chromebooks can be issued for summer learning. Chromebooks with a red “DAS” RCSD Asset Tag on the back can not be used.

Sites are responsible for following up with families and ensuring Chromebooks are returned when offices open in August. Any Chromebooks not returned will be considered lost and will come out of site funds to replace. Sites are responsible for following up with the family to seek reimbursement.

Do not check out Chromebooks to any families that are not enrolled in RCSD for the next school year.
If there is a situation that does not meet one of the criteria above, you must talk to your coach before checking out a Chromebook. If you have any questions please talk with your coach.

We are not actively communicating this with families.

i-Ready Costs for Additional Licences
Kelly and Brandon are working with i-Ready on next steps for sites that are looking to purchase additional licenses (beyond the 2-8 Diagnostic for both Reading and Math, as well as one subject for 2-5). We will get this information to the principals next week.

Megan will communicate with Middle School admin regarding the iXL math pilot next week as well.
