August 14th PD Day
Thank you to everyone for a great start to the school year.  It was fun to all be together on Monday!


All TK-8th grade teachers in one place.  Thanks again to the Eich staff for letting everyone use your campus!
Here is a video with some highlights from the August 14th PD Day:

 CELDT Testing
CELDT Initial testing will begin the week of August 28 through September 14. This test will be administered to only newly enrolled students (TBD students) who have a language other than English listed on any of the 4 lines on their Home Language Survey. A district CELDT team is available to administer the test at each of your sites. Please connect with your Site EL Coordinator to ensure you have a site testing schedule created once I’ve sent you the days the team will be at your site.

September 15th PD Day
Elementary school will have another choice PD day on September 15th.  We would love some administrators to present as well.  Please fill out the application if you are interested.

Middle School Springboard Training
At least one admin (preferably 2) from each middle school must attend the Springboard ELA Admin Training on Sept 15th at Buljan.  More details to come, but wanted to give a heads up. If you have any questions please contact Melissa.

Exciting PD from Jennifer Serravallo, author of The Reading Strategies and Writing Strategies Book offered in San Ramon on Dec 5th ($209 a person).  Highly recommend admin and site leaders in ELA K-8 attend.  Her book, ideas and routines will be a focus in our ELA PD Cycles.

BUSINESS SERVICES Assemblies Involving Animals If you are hosting an assembly at your site that involves animals you may need to have parents sign the SIG Activities Waiver. All assemblies that involve animals on campus should be communicated to parents before the event. This can be done through an email, newsletter, blog, etc. If your students WILL be touching the animals, parents must fill out the SIG Activities Waiver. If your students will NOT be touching animals and will only be looking at the animals from a distance, you do not need to have parents fill out the waiver. Kindergarten Communication Timeline Please refer to this Kindergarten Communication Timeline which has the dates that Swift messages will be sent from the District and from the Site regarding full day Kindergarten and early dismissal for the first 7 days of school.
