Report Card Reminders

Since Trimester 2 Report Cards just went out, we wanted to give leaders an insight into the most common errors we see staff making, as well at the tickets that are submitted.  We put information in the Educator Blog as well

-95% of the tickets are related to Due Date.  Due Dates matter! All assignments should have a due date that falls within the Trimester you want that grade to appear.  For elementary the final report card rubric should have the date that we give teachers.  For middle school, within Otus when assigning anything, but especially grading rubrics, include a due date that is within the grading window. If a due date is not added, the grade gets placed in the grading window that the teacher grades the assessment, not when it was assigned. Adding a due date is the best way to guarantee accuracy of assessments within grading windows.  For example, if you assigned a rubric in Trimester 2, but updated a grade on March 3rd, the system thinks that grade is now for Tri 3 since there is no due date.

-All sites should be giving a preview of the report card and sending it out in time for teachers to review before a final is created.  A lot of teachers never looked at their Preview so please remind them that they must view their preview before final report cards are sent out.

  • Elementary Change in Bell Schedules for Kindergarten: Please reduce the kindergarten instructional minutes by 10  minutes to accommodate for the warm hand off between the teacher and the parent/guardian at the end of the day. The bell schedule you submit to Business must match your bell schedule on your webpage.

    • Kindergarten:

PLC Weds/Min Days = 250 Minutes NEW TOTAL: 240 Minutes

Conference week Days = 188 Minutes NEW TOTAL-178 Minutes

Administrator Action Items

-Share PTC Meeting procedures for providing daycare during PTC meetings with your PTC board members. This practice will be fully implemented for the 23/24 school year

-Work on Bell Schedules and follow timelines on slide #9(Draft due to Schelli-4/14)

- Complete PLC Self-Assessment Data (hard copy) and send to Erin or Angela by end of the week if you didn’t complete at Leadership

BUSINESS SERVICES Assemblies Involving Animals If you are hosting an assembly at your site that involves animals you may need to have parents sign the SIG Activities Waiver. All assemblies that involve animals on campus should be communicated to parents before the event. This can be done through an email, newsletter, blog, etc. If your students WILL be touching the animals, parents must fill out the SIG Activities Waiver. If your students will NOT be touching animals and will only be looking at the animals from a distance, you do not need to have parents fill out the waiver.
