Accounting for Staff/Kids in Raptor
Due to the fact that Raptor changed the view when logging in to account for staff and students, the slides have been updated to reflect these changes.  These
slides focus on the steps for staff members to account for themselves, students and other staff members.  A “cheat sheet” has also been created to assist in the steps if needed.

Don’t forget how to support subs in the process as well.  In an evacuation a sub can connect with the teacher closest to their evacuation spot and that teacher can pull up the roster. In a secure or lockdown drill you can have someone they call into and report.  For example, they can call or text someone in the front office. This needs to be part of your sub procedures.

Alerting Site During a Drill/Emergency

Just a reminder that sites are not supposed to rely solely on Raptor alerts for drills and emergencies.  All sites must use Raptor as well as the intercom.  The language to use on the intercom is specific to the drill. Please repeat the language multiple times over the intercom.  Refer to the Emergency Guidelines for the language.  A third method can also be grabbing the radio and stating it on the radio.  Using all methods should ensure that everyone is alerted.

Other Resources

Sara Ballantine developed this resource to support students in understanding the five actions. Feel free to use it. Thank you, Sara!

EQ Schools Conference - Roseville, CA - Nov. 11-12

EQ Schools Conference is coming to Olympus Middle School on November 11 and 12.  Ed Services will pay for any site admin that would like to attend.  There is a pretty large discount for registering as a group, so if you have staff that you would like to send please fill out the form and we will get them registered.  This will be a site expense so please include the account code you would like to use.

Here is the form to fill out whether you would like to go, or send someone from your site.

Admin can count the Friday and Saturday as work days on their work calendar.  If you have any questions, please ask your coach.

Below is more information about the conference, including links:

EQ Schools is an organization that brings Positive Psychology and Emotional Intelligence training to leaders and educators. In 2016 we hosted a sold-out conference at Olympus and we are bringing it back this year! This year's theme is "Get Empowered to Re-energize, Grow and Play" and the conference will take place on November 11th and 12th. November 11th is Veterans day so no subs are needed. The two days are designed to rejuvenate and inspire, which will leave your teachers with countless tools to take back to their life and classrooms on Monday morning.  Here is a quick video about it and video testimonials!
